[ARCHIVED] Morgantown Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire at 416 Beechurst Avenue

At 11:50 p.m. on June 2,  the Morgantown Fire Department responded to a report of a of a structure fire at 416 Beechurst Avenue, located in the Sunnyside area of Morgantown. Upon arrival, crews found a working fire in the rear of the building which quickly spread to the second and third floors. Firefighters were able to gain entry to perform a search of the structure, confirming that no occupants were located inside. Multiple hose lines were used to bring the fire under control. A second alarm was initiated, recalling off-duty personnel, to backfill stations while crews fought the fire.

The building, which is owned by Grandeotto, Inc. of Clarksburg, was heavily damaged by the fire and is considered a total loss. Investigation of the fire will be conducted by the Morgantown Fire Marshals Division.
