[ARCHIVED] Update: Morgantown Police Respond to Report of Unresponsive Male

MORGANTOWN, W.VA. - The unresponsive male has been identified as Kevin Daft, 35 years of age of Morgantown. There are no additional updates at this time.

ORIGINAL – On July 10, 2019 at approximately 10:16 a.m. officers of the Morgantown Police Department responded to the Decker’s Creek Rail Trail near Elk Street regarding an unresponsive male. Officers were able to locate the male’s body in a wooded area near Decker’s Creek.

EMS personnel arrived on scene and pronounced the male deceased. The Medical Examiner’s office was notified and responded to the scene. Preliminary investigation revealed no indications of foul play; however, the incident is still under investigation. The male was transported by EMS to Ruby Memorial Hospital. The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending the location and notification of any next of kin.
