[ARCHIVED] Downtown Street Closures for the Celebration of America Event

MORGANTOWN, W.VA. - The Morgantown Police Department is altering traffic patterns on Thursday, July 4 for the Celebration of America Event beginning at 5 p.m. in the downtown area. Traffic in the downtown area will be restricted throughout the event. 

High Street will be closed from Willey to Kirk Street beginning at 5 p.m. Food vendors, music and kid’s activities will take place between Walnut and Pleasant Street followed by the Celebration of America Parade at 6:30 p.m. Traffic will be detoured from Willey Street onto Prospect Street back to University Avenue. Officers will be at the intersections to assist with traffic. 

Parking will be restricted on High, Willey, Prospect and North High Streets beginning at 3:30 p.m. Parade spectators are urged to arrive downtown early to allow ample time for parking. While downtown street parking will have some restrictions, there will be ample parking in the two downtown parking garages for free.
