The City of Morgantown will hold four open houses during the month of July centered on its draft annexation plan. The plan includes the annexation of 3.8 square miles in the Suncrest, Mileground, and First Ward areas by Minor Boundary Adjustment.

The open houses are intended to provide residents and businesses opportunities to learn more about the city’s draft annexation plan, the benefits of annexation, and the annexation process.
Morgantown City Council and city administration are using the public comment period, which runs until June 30, to listen to citizen concerns and questions regarding the city’s plan. The goal is to address these concerns and provide answers to questions during the four open houses.
The draft Annexation Plan and additional information is also available online at bit.ly/mgwannex. Hard copies of the draft Annexation Plan and application are available to the public in the City Manager’s office, City Clerk’s office, Morgantown Public Library, and Monongalia County Senior Center.
