The Friends of Deckers Creek in collaboration with the Morgantown Tree Board and other organizations will host a volunteer litter cleanup and tree planting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 6 at the Friends of Deckers Creek Outdoor Learning Park in Sabraton.

Volunteers are needed for this event which will include a litter cleanup along the Rail-Trail and Deckers Creek, as well as a tree planting at Marilla Park. The West Virginia Division of Forestry provided over 100 saplings for this planting through the Mountaineer Treeways Program. The Morgantown Tree Board assisted with selecting the proper trees, donation of mulch and assistance at the event.

The Outdoor Learning Park is located on the Rail-Trail directly behind the Sabraton Kroger. Once the cleanup is complete, around noon, any interested volunteers will make their way to Marilla Park to plant saplings along Deckers Creek.
