The Morgantown City Clerk’s office is seeking poll workers for the upcoming April 30, 2019 City of Morgantown municipal election. Poll workers will assist with the voting process and ensure that everything runs smoothly when Morgantown city residents cast their ballots.
Poll workers must be registered to vote and undergo training. Training is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, 2019, with a make-up training on Saturday, April 27, 2019. Poll workers will receive $50 for attending training and $150 for working on election day. This is a great way for individuals to give back to our community and earn money doing so.
Election workers are key to providing a smooth voting process for residents. They also help maintain the integrity of elections. Prior experience is not required, just a commitment of citizen to participate. It is your turn to demonstrate your civic participation. Interested persons should contact the Clerk’s office by telephone at 304-284-7434 or via email at cwade@morgantownwv.gov no later than 5 p.m. on April 15, 2019.
The voter registration deadline is Monday, April 1, 2019. Residents can register to vote and update their registration online by visiting https://ovr.sos.wv.gov/Register/Landing. Alternatively, residents may register in person at the local DMV or the Monongalia County Clerk’s office.
