[ARCHIVED] Suspect Arrested During Burglary

On Monday December 17, 2018, officers of the Morgantown Police Department, responded to a report of suspicious activity at 274 Wiles Street. Officers arrived on scene and found a broken window at the residence and then observed a suspect inside the residence wearing a ski mask.

Officers order the suspect to come out of the residence, but he ignored the commands and fled into the residence. Officers of the Morgantown Police Department assisted by officers of WVU Police Department made entry into the residence and took a suspect into custody without further incident.

The suspect, identified as Benjamin CULICERTO, 22 years of age of Princeton WV, is charged with burglary and is being held awaiting arraignment.

Update - During investigation into the burglary a second suspect was identified. Officers of the Morgantown Police Department were able to obtain warrants for the arrest of the additional suspect. 

At approximately 11:00 a.m. on December 19, 2018, officers of the Morgantown Police Department located Brett Joseph BARTON, 21 years of age of Parkersburg, WV, in the area of the Suncrest Town Centre. BARTON was taken into custody without incident and is pending arraignment. 

This case is closed by arrest of the offenders.
