[ARCHIVED] Suspect Arrested Following Larceny from Vehicle

At approximately 00:14 a.m. on Sept. 28, 2018, officers of the Morgantown Police Department responded to a report of a larceny from motor vehicles on Chestnut Street. There were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle and there was no damage to the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Officers encountered a suspect and identified him as Shawn Patrick BARKLEY, 47 years of age of Morgantown. Following the investigation, officers were able to obtain video footage of BARKLEY entering the vehicle and taking a computer and a Voltmeter from the victim’s vehicle.

Officers obtained a warrant for the arrest of BARKLEY for grand larceny. On Sept. 30, 2018 at approximately 02:00 am, officers arrested BARKLEY at his residence and he was taken into custody without incident and is currently confined at the North Central Regional Jail. The property has not been recovered at this time.
