[ARCHIVED] Morgantown Police Arrest Suspect During Burglary

At approximately 11:57 p.m. on June 12, 2018, officers of the Morgantown Police Department responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 261 Brockway Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found the door to one of the apartments forced open with a report of the suspects still being inside the apartment. Officers entered the apartment and found a victim who reported that Dylan and Randy YODERS broke into her apartment and assaulted her while attempting to take items of her personal property from the apartment. The victim reported that she was able get away from the attackers and call 911. The victim had visible signs of a physical assault and was treated at the scene.

Officers continued the investigation and found Randy YODERS in another apartment in the building. YODERS was ordered out of the apartment and taken into custody. Officers searched the apartment and found another victim who reported that YODERS forced his way into the apartment just prior to the Police Departments arrival.

The victims reported that Dylan YODERS fled the area on foot just prior to officers arriving on scene.

Randy YODERS, 28 years of age of Maidsville, West Virginia, was taken into custody and transported to the Morgantown Police Department where he was charged with burglary. YODERS has refused to be processed and claimed injury because of the struggle during the commission of this incident. YODERS was transported to Ruby Medical Center where he was released following a medical screening and is currently being held on a $50,000 secured bond.

Dylan YODERS, 24 years of age of Maidsville, West Virginia is currently wanted for burglary.
