[ARCHIVED] Convicted Felon Arrested for Attempted Daytime Burglary

Officers of the Morgantown Police Department responded to a burglary in progress call on Colonial Drive at 10:15 a.m. this date. The resident fled her home when she realized a male was trying to break in. Neighbors followed the suspect and provided photos of him and his vehicle to the officers.  A few minutes later, an officer located the suspect in his vehicle at the Circle K Convenience Store on University Avenue. The suspect was positively identified and taken into custody without incident.

The suspect, Mario Hennicke, Jr., a 28-year-old resident of the Morgantown area, was charged with Attempted Daytime Burglary. He was on probation in Monongalia County, so he was also charged with Probation Violation. Mario Hennicke, Jr. has numerous felony convictions dating back to 2009. His convictions include two for Robbery – 1st Degree, several for Daytime and Nighttime Burglary, and two for Grand Larceny. Mario Hennicke, Jr. will be arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court where his bond will be set for the Attempted Daytime Burglary. He will be lodged in the North Central Regional Jail pending a hearing for the Probation Violation.
