[ARCHIVED] Morgantown Police Arrest Burglary Suspect

Officers of the Morgantown Police Department responded to a reported Burglary in Progress on Westminster Drive at approximately 7:37 a.m. this morning. The victims reported that they heard sounds of someone in their house and called 911. The victim reported that he found the suspect in his basement and that he was holding him at gunpoint.

Officers arrived and found the suspect, identified as Timothy Gage ZIPPERER, 26 years of age, no permanent address, being detained by the victim in the basement of the residence. Officers took ZIPPERER into custody for Burglary. ZIPPERER is currently in custody awaiting arraignment.

It appears that ZIPPERER made entry into the residence through an unsecured pet door. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.

Residents are reminded to secure all doors on their property as well as making sure that vehicles are secured, and no valuables are left inside of vehicles.
