Morgantown City Council Regular Meeting Highlights:

- SWEARING IN BALLOT COMMISSIONERS
The City Clerk will be sworn in as the Head Ballot Commissioner for the 2021 City of Morgantown Municipal Election. The City Clerk will then swear in two additional Ballot Commissioners who will assist the City Clerk in presiding over the election. - CONSIDERING VACANT STRUCTURE EXEMPTION REQUESTS
City Council will consider an order granting an exemption from the requirement to register a structure as vacant under the City of Morgantown’s Vacant Structures Code for 301 Brockway Avenue. Council will also consider an order denying an exemption from the requirement to register a structure as vacant under the City of Morgantown’s Vacant Structures Code for 208 East End Avenue. - RECLASSIFYING LAND IN 6TH WARD
At the recommendation of the Morgantown Planning Commission, city council will consider an ordinance that would amend the Zoning Map to reclassify four parcels of land in the 6th Ward near Brookhaven Road from R-1, Single-Family Residential to B-2, Service Business District. - REPAIRING PARKING INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE CITY
At the request of the Morgantown Parking Authority, this ordinance and accompanying resolution would authorize general repairs and an elevator replacement in the existing multilevel parking building located between University Avenue and Chestnut Street and replacement of a retaining wall in the existing surface parking lot located adjacent to 300 Spruce Street. The ordinance would authorize the issuance by the city of not more than $3.25 million in aggregate principal amount of Parking System Revenue Bonds, Series 2021 for the purpose of financing the design, acquisition, construction and equipping of this project. - AWARDING THE BID FOR PHASE 1 CONSTRUCTION OF THE RUNWAY EXTENSION PROJECT
At the recommendation of Michael Baker International, the project manager for the Runway Extension Project at the Morgantown Municipal Airport, the bid award for the construction of Phase 1 of the Runway Extension Project should be awarded to Doss Enterprises, LC in the amount of $5,753,978.10. - REPLACING THE ROOF AT THE METROPOLITAN THEATRE
At the recommendation of the City Engineer, the bid award for the replacement of the roof at The Metropolitan Theatre should be awarded to Mansuetto & Sons Roofing in the amount of $277,165.
