Morgantown Police Department Investigating Reports of Alleged Assaults Near Rail Trail

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The Morgantown Police Department (MPD) has been made aware of alleged sexual assault incidents occurring on or near the rail trail. At this time, MPD is actively investigating these reports. However, no official criminal complaints have been filed, and information remains limited. 

As a precautionary measure, MPD has increased patrols and officer presence in possible locations of concern while the investigation continues. Anyone with information that may assist law enforcement is encouraged to contact MPD at 304-599-6382. In the event of an emergency, always call 911.
