Mon Metro Drug Task Force Assists With Execution of Targeted Operation
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - On June 16, 2025, the Mon Metro Drug Task Force and the Three Rivers Drug Task Force executed a coordinated law enforcement operation resulting in the execution of nine search warrants across Monongalia (3) and Marion (6) Counties. Five additional individuals were also arrested on various state and federal drug-related charges—four in Monongalia County and one in Marion County. Further charges are pending.
The operation was supported by multiple local, state, and federal partners, including the West Virginia State Police Special Response Team (SRT) North, Morgantown Police Department SRT, Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department SRT, DEA Louisville Division SRT, West Virginia University Police Department, Fairmont Police Department, DEA Clarksburg, FBI Clarksburg, and ATF Clarksburg.
During the searches, law enforcement seized the following:
- 21.5 lbs. of crystal methamphetamine
- 17 lbs. of fentanyl
- 2.5 lbs. of crack cocaine
- 2.2 lbs. of cocaine HCl
- $13,715 in U.S. currency
- 30 firearms
- A large quantity of ammunition
This investigation reflects the ongoing commitment of law enforcement agencies to dismantle drug trafficking networks and protect the safety of West Virginia communities.
The Mon Metro Drug Task Force is a HIDTA-funded initiative. The task force consists of representatives from the Federal Bureau of Investigation; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; the Drug Enforcement Administration; the West Virginia State Police; the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office; the Monongalia County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office; the Morgantown Police Department; the WVU Police Department; the Granville Police Department; and the Star City Police Department.
