Morgantown Police Officers Respond to Large Gathering on N High St.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - At approximately 2:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, Morgantown Police Officers responded to a residence on North High Street after receiving reports of a large party with loud music, causing noise violations.
Upon arrival at the scene, Morgantown Police Officers directed the operator of the stereo system to turn off the music to comply with noise regulations.
After the music was turned off, the crowd became aggressive and began throwing projectiles at the officers on scene.
In an effort to regain control of the area, Morgantown Police Officers utilized standard crowd dispersal techniques, like PepperBalls and inert smoke.
Once order was restored to the area, officers evaluated bystanders and offered to contact EMS if needed. Ultimately, no one at the scene requested EMS assistance.
No arrests were made at the scene. The incident is being investigated further to determine if any additional enforcement actions should be taken.
