Morgantown Police Respond to Motor Vehicle Accident at Waterfront Place

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - On February 20, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the Morgantown Police Department (MPD) responded to a motor vehicle accident at the Morgantown Marriot Hotel located at 1 Waterfront Place.

Upon arrival, officers observed a Nissan Frontier, on its side, at the northeast corner of the building.  Based on their assessment of the scene, MPD was able to confirm that the vehicle struck the building.

MPD also confirmed that the driver involved in the accident was conscience but injured. The driver was removed from the vehicle by Morgantown Fire Department (MFD) personnel and transported to the hospital by Monongalia County EMS. The vehicle had no additional occupants.

Additionally, the building was inspected for structural damage by code enforcement and was deemed structurally safe. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
