Traffic Direction Change on Belmar and Waverly Coming Soon

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The City of Morgantown is altering traffic direction on Belmar Ave. and Waverly St., effective Dec. 16, 2024. Both roads will shift to one-way operation as part of a study focused on improving traffic flow and safety.

Ingress to the area will begin at the intersection of Price St. and Belmar Ave., while egress will occur where Waverly St. meets Price St. This change is part of a comprehensive 90-day study that will enable the city to collect valuable data and assess traffic patterns more effectively.

"We appreciate the patience and understanding of our residents as we implement these changes," said Damien Davis, Director of Engineering and Public Works . "This study will allow us to learn how to better address traffic patterns which will increase safety and convenience for everyone living in the community."

City officials advise residents to follow the new traffic guidelines as they are implemented and thank the community for its cooperation.
