Morgantown Police Apprehend Man for Threats of Terroristic Acts
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Nickolas Vadim Moore, 18, of St. Louis, M.O., has been arrested for Threats of Terroristic Acts following the Morgantown Police Department’s recent investigation into threats of a shooting at Morgantown High School.
On August 28, 2024, the Morgantown Police Department was made aware of a social media post circulating online alleging a threat of a shooting at Morgantown High School. Detectives from the Morgantown Police Department immediately began investigating the source of the threat, and with the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Monongalia County Schools, a suspect was able to be identified and interviewed on the same day the threat was discovered.
Based on their investigation and interviews, investigators were able to quickly determine that there was no active threat to the school or any of its students. The individual that posted the threat was determined to be located in St. Louis, M.O., and the weapons seen in the social media post were determined to be airsoft guns.
The individual that made the threat was identified as 18-year-old Nickolas Vadim Moore of St. Louis, M.O. A warrant for Threats of Terroristic Acts was obtained by the Morgantown Police Department, and Moore was arrested on September 20 by the St. Louis County Police Department in Missouri. Moore was extradited to West Virginia on October 4, where he was processed and then arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court. Moore was released on a $30,000 bond.
The Morgantown Police Department would like to thank every student, parent, and school official who reported the threat in a timely fashion so that detectives could conduct a thorough investigation and ensure the safety of our schools and students.
