Morgantown Man Arrested for Breaking and Entering, Grand Larceny

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - On Thursday, September 12, detectives with the Morgantown Police Department arrested Dustin Vernon Gomes of Morgantown on two counts of breaking and entering and one count of grand larceny. The arrest follows investigations by the Detective Division into two incidents.
The first incident occurred on August 31, 2024, when an annex building at Suncrest Middle School was broken into and various items were taken. The second incident took place on September 9, 2024, at an administrative building at Morgantown Energy Associates (MEA) Power Plant located on Beechurst Ave. where additional items were taken. A Jeep Rubicon was stolen from the parking lot of the facility as well.
The Morgantown Police Department remains committed to its goal of eliminating crime in the city.
