Unidentified Body Discovered Near Don Knotts Blvd

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The Morgantown Police Department responded to a report of an unidentified body located near a bridge on Don Knotts Blvd. at 6:43 p.m. on Aug. 20, 2024. Officers arrived on the scene and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the discovery.

At this time, police do not believe the individual is a documented missing person, and no foul play is suspected. This determination is contingent upon the medical examiner's findings. 

Once the medical examiner's report is received and the individual has been identified, the police department will notify the next of kin before releasing additional statements to the public.
