Morgantown Police Dismisses Unsubstantiated Reports of Potential Protests and Violence
MORGANTOWN, W.V. - The Morgantown Police Department is aware of recent rumors circulating on social media and other platforms regarding potential protests that may lead to violence or harm within our community. These reports are unfounded, and there is no credible information to support the existence of any imminent threat.
Contrary to these rumors, the Morgantown Police Department has not taken any extraordinary measures in anticipation of such protests. The Morgantown Police Department remains committed to upholding the principles of community safety, transparency, and open communication. At this time, there is no indication of any planned or organized event that poses a risk to public safety.
The Morgantown Police Department understands that concerns may arise given the current social and political climate, and want to reassure the public that they are actively monitoring the situation. However, it is important to rely on accurate information from official sources. Misinformation can create unnecessary panic and divert resources away from genuine public safety concerns.
