Morgantown Fire Department Responds to Explosion on Wells St.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Just before 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6th, MFD Engines 2 and 3, along with Ladder 3, responded to a 911 call indicating that an explosion had occurred at 727 Wells St., which is located near Mountaineer Middle School.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered significant damage to the building, along with three young adults who required medical evaluation and treatment.

On the scene with the Morgantown Fire Department was Monongalia EMS, City and State fire marshals, and representatives of the residence's utility company.

The City and State fire marshals are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.
