Morgantown Police Respond to Open Shots Fired Call
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - On August 27th at approximately 0340 hours, Morgantown Police Officers responded to a shots fired call at the 400 block of Beverly Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with several witnesses, who provided descriptions of the suspect as well as video footage of the incident.
Officers determined that a single gunshot was fired following a physical altercation between individuals located in the area.
The suspect had fled prior to police arrival. During the initial investigation into the incident, a suspect was identified by Morgantown Police Detectives, and service of a criminal complaint is pending.
Further details will be released upon service of warrants. The Morgantown Police would like to thank the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office and the WVU Police Department for assisting in the investigation.
