Equipment Fire - MUB Waste Water Treatment Plant

Morgantown Fire Department operated at a fire at the MUB Waste Water Treatment Plant on Leeway Street this afternoon, Thursday, 6 April 2023. 

The fire started in and was contained to a mechanical blower that produced high-volume air for waste processing. Damage was contained to the unit and was estimated by employees to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars range. 

Planned redundancy ensures that operations will not be affected. An error in the MECCA 911 computer-aided dispatch alerted multiple Mon County Fire Departments. These fire units aided MFD in ensuring the fire was completely extinguished. 

County Fire Departments responding were Star City, Granville, Westover & Cassville.
