Morgantown Police Investigating High Street Shooting

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The Morgantown Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that occurred shortly before 4 a.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at The Bank located at 344 High Street. 

A fight was reported to have occurred near the entrance of the bar, and the suspect fired several shots from a handgun.  As a result, an adult male sustained one gun shot wound to the abdomen. The wounded victim was able to flee the bar and approach a Mon EMS ambulance crew in the area. The victim was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

The suspect and others involved in the altercation fled the area prior to officers arriving on scene. Officers and detectives canvassed the surrounding area for witnesses and video footage that may be of investigative assistance. 

No arrests have been made in relation to the shooting and the investigation is ongoing. Future updates may be provided as additional information becomes available.
