Public Works Department Offering Leaf Removal and Pickup Service
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Starting November 1, the City of Morgantown’s Public Works Department will begin offering its annual leaf removal and pickup service to residents within city limits.
If a resident’s street becomes littered with fallen leaves, he or she may call the Public Works Department at 304-291-7465 to arrange a leafing. The service is free of charge.
"Our leaf vac and pickup program is an excellent way for us to help city residents keep their ditches and streets clean," said Meagan Deeley, Deputy Director of Engineering and Public Works.
The Public Works Department will not collect leaves from yards; they must be blown or raked to the curb. Alternatively, leaves can be bagged in large, lawn-size trash bags and placed at the end of the resident’s driveway for collection.
If anyone would like to use the excess leaves for composting, they will be available for pickup at the Morgantown Municipal Garage located at 2020 Mississippi Street.
