New Art at the Airport Show Accepting Entries
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The Morgantown Art Association is accepting entries for its upcoming show at Morgantown Municipal Airport, entitled “Prospectus.” Entries should be brought to the Morgantown Municipal Airport on Monday, September 26 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
“Mountain Memories” will be the theme of the art show, and it will include a special category of art with the theme “Balloons Over Morgantown,” in celebration of the University Toyota’s Morgantown Balloon Festival.
The exhibit is open to artists who are members or become members of the Morgantown Art Association at the time of the show. Membership information is available on the Association’s website.
All wall art must be properly matted/framed, wired for hanging and properly labeled. Sculptures and ceramics must be properly labeled and will be displayed in a glass-enclosed display case.
All pieces must be in good condition and suitable for a show located in a public facility. Final decisions regarding acceptance of art for the show will be made by the Art at the Airport Committee. The exhibit will run through December 2022, and entries should remain on display for that duration of time.
A total of $500 in prizes will be awarded to artists. Each entry is eligible to win only one award. The Opening Reception will be held on Wednesday, September 28 at 5:30. Prizes will be awarded at that time.
The Art at the Airport program is a collaborative partnership between the Morgantown Art Association, City of Morgantown Arts & Cultural Development Department, and the Morgantown Municipal Airport.
