Downtown Sidewalks to Undergo Maintenance

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Sidewalks spanning High, Pleasant, and Willey Streets will undergo maintenance from Tuesday, Sept. 13 to Friday, Sept. 16 to remove potential trip hazards. The sidewalks will remain open to pedestrians with limited impediments expected, and access to businesses will not be interrupted.

Pedestrians should be aware that the maintenance work will be quite loud and dusty. In the event of inclement weather, the work will be postponed to the following week.

Trip hazards are classified by a vertical displacement exceeding 1/4 inch. Each trip hazard takes 15-20 minutes to repair.

The City of Morgantown has contracted with Precision Safe Sidewalks, LLC for the removal of downtown trip hazards.
