City Departments Relocating Due To Upcoming City Hall Construction
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Due to the upcoming renovation of Morgantown City Hall, several departments within the city are temporarily relocating. The estimated timeline for the following departments to move to the 430 Spruce St. location is as follows:
- Finance, April 11;
- Code Enforcement (Building Inspectors & Permits personnel), June 6;
- Development Services, June 6;
- City Clerk, June 13;
Additional personnel will move to the Morgantown Municipal Airport terminal building between now and July. Code Enforcement (Housing & Property Maintenance Inspectors) will relocate May 9.
Other departments relocating to the airport include Urban Landscapes, some Engineering & Public Works personnel and the Fire Marshals.The renovation at City Hall will include the replacement of heating, ventilation, cooling, windows, flooring, elevator; improvements to the restrooms and kitchens; and the reconfiguration of office spaces. These renovation to City Hall will cost an estimated $2.9 million, which will be funded through recent infrastructure bonds.
