- SUPPORTING HARM REDUCTION PROGRAMS IN MORGANTOWN
At the request of the Director of Milan Puskar Health Right, this
letter declares council's support for the Harm Reduction Programs provided by Milan Puskar Health Right. Under state law, a letter of support is needed from City Council in order for Health Right to continue its Harm Reduction Programs. Health Right Executive Director Laura Jones reported to council on the groups Harm Reduction Programs at the Oct. 26 Committee of the Whole meeting.
Passed 7-0.- APPROVING LARGE EQUIPMENT PURCHASES FOR CITY DEPARTMENTS
At the request of the Director of the Morgantown Municipal Airport (MGW) and the Director of Public Works and Engineering (PW&E), these
purchase agreements approve the purchase of a Genie Aerial Lift for the MGW in the amount of $44,740.60 and a Skid Steer for the Engineering and Public Works Department in the amount of $57,687.25 using the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Agreement. The aerial lift will allow airport staff to service roadway and parking lot light systems, airfield light systems, maintain the navigational beacon on top of the Air Traffic Control Tower, and to gain access to the roof tops of airport buildings. The skid steer will be used by PW&E staff on construction projects, difficult to access areas for cleanup, and snow removal from some sidewalks. These items are included in the current capital budgets for both departments.
Passed 7-0.- SEEKING FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR MORGANTOWN ICE ARENA RENOVATION PROJECT
At the request of the City Manager, this
resolution authorizes the City Manager to apply to the State of West Virginia to request $1,000,000 in funding for the Morgantown Ice Arena Renovation Project out of the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
