City of Morgantown to Highlight Local Artists with Art at the Airport
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The City of Morgantown Arts & Cultural Development Department is launching a new partnership with the Morgantown Art Association and the Morgantown Municipal Airport to showcase local artists’ works in the airport terminal.
The Art at the Airport program will present local artists’ work in an exhibition at the airport terminal near the gate and baggage claim areas. Along with showcasing artwork, there will be opportunities for the artists to sell their work if desired. The Morgantown Art Association will coordinate in selecting artists and rotating the exhibition throughout the year. The inaugural exhibition and an opening reception with the artists will be held Wednesday, July 21 at 5:30 PM. The public is invited to attend.
“It’s great that we can support local artists and provide a space where they can showcase and sell their artwork while enhancing the airport experience for travelers,” said Vincent Kitch, Director of Arts & Cultural Development.
Masks are required while inside the airport except while actively eating or drinking. Light refreshments will be served at the opening reception.
