Morgantown Police Respond to Stabbing Incident on High Street
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - At approximately 1:20 a.m. on Friday, July 9 officers from the Morgantown Police Department responded to a reported stabbing at Baby Squirrel Saloon located at 321 High Street.
Upon arrival officers located a male victim, later identified as Adam Tucker, 23 years of age, of Warrenton, Virginia, outside of the bar with a laceration to his abdomen. Officers provided first aid to Tucker until Morgantown Fire Department and Mon EMS personnel arrived on scene.
During the initial investigation officers were able to determine that an altercation had taken place inside the bar which resulted in Tucker being cut with a knife. Officers were able to quickly identify the suspect in this incident based on several eyewitness statements and he was located by officers on High Street in front of the bar. The suspect was identified as James Henderson, 36 years of age, of North Canton, Ohio.
Henderson was taken into custody and charged with one count of malicious wounding. He is currently awaiting arraignment in Monongalia County Magistrate Court. Tucker was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital by Mon EMS. He is expected to be discharged from the hospital later this morning.
