City Council Accepting Applications to Fill First Ward City Council Seat
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Morgantown City Council is accepting applications for the vacancy of a First Ward council member to serve the remainder of the term (expiring June 30, 2023). The vacancy comes after recently elected First Ward City Council Candidate Patrick Hathaway notified the City Clerk that he would not be able to fulfill his term.
Council will accept applications for the vacancy until July 16 and will interview some or all applicants in open public meetings. The final list of applicants will be posted on the city website here. Based on the timeline laid out in the City Charter, Council will interview applicants on July 20 and will vote to appoint the new member on July 27.
