City Council Announces Applicants to Fill Third Ward City Council Seat

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Morgantown City Council will interview applicants for its vacant Third Ward council seat during a special meeting on March 23 at 7 p.m.

The appointee will serve the remainder of the current term, which expires June 30, 2021. Following the interviews, council will deliberate and appoint one of the applicants. The appointee is expected to participate in the Committee of the Whole meeting on March 30. 

The applicants that are being considered for the position are:

• Athena Freedlander;
• Lukaas Hendrix;
• Paul Liller;
• Deborah Bergen; and
• Julie Beck.

The vacancy of the seat comes after Morgantown Third Ward City Councilor Zackery Cruze resigned on March 5.
