Morgantown Fire Department Responds to 2nd Alarm Fire on Pleasant Street

At approximately 5:26 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, the Morgantown Fire Department was dispatched to a confirmed structure fire at 229 Pleasant Street. 

The two-story building was vacant, and had formerly been occupied by Wild Zero Studios with one apartment above. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in approximately 45 minutes. The fire caused an estimated $25,000 in damages. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

Investigators from the Morgantown Fire Department believe the fire started in the front room of the second floor apartment, and the cause is undetermined at this time.  Although, investigators have determined that the apartment was recently occupied by several unauthorized inhabitants. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Morgantown Arson Hotline at 304-225-3586.
