[ARCHIVED] Morgantown Police Arrest Man for Animal Cruelty

News Release Logo v2

On Aug. 27, the Morgantown Police Department was made aware of a video that showed a male subject choking/strangling a Dalmatian dog.

Officers were able to identify the subject as Jesse Workman, 23 years of age of Morgantown. Officers were also able to determine that the incident in the video occurred in February 2020. With that information, officers were able to secure an animal seizure/removal notice for the dog in the video. Officers made contact with Workman, who was cooperative and he released the dog to the Monongalia County Dog Warden. Mr. Workman was taken into custody at that time and charged with Animal Cruelty. He is currently incarcerated in lieu of $15,000 bond.
