[ARCHIVED] Morgantown Fire Department Responds to Third Alarm Fire on Falling Run Road

At approximately 10:25 p.m. yesterday, the Morgantown Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire at the end of Falling Run Road. Fire crews arrived and observed flames coming from the rear of house located at 412 Falling Run Road.  The officer in charge called for a 2nd alarm response, then later upgraded to a third-alarm, when it was discovered the adjacent house at 480 Falling Run Road was also on fire. Both homes were vacant and condemned by Code Enforcement prior to the fire.  

One firefighter was transported to the hospital with a foot or ankle injury.  There were no civilian injuries. Damage estimates to the two homes is approximately $150,000.  Firefighters cleared the scene around 2:30 a.m. this morning.  Investigators from the Morgantown Fire Department believe the fire started in the rear of the vacant homes, and the cause is under further investigation.  They will return to the scene later this morning.  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Morgantown Arson Hotline at 304-225-3586.
