[ARCHIVED] Pipeline Replacements to Cause Delay’s on Kingwood Street and 8th Street

Beginning May 27, motorists can expect delays on Kingwood Street and 8th Street as Dominion Energy upgrades gas pipelines in the area.

Construction will take place on 8th Street between Grant Avenue and University Avenue and is expected to last from May 27 to June 9. Construction on Kingwood Street will occur between Pennsylvania Avenue and Brockway Avenue and is expected to last from May 27 to Aug. 7.

Delays are expected to take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays. Kingwood Street will be closed between Pennsylvania Avenue and Brockway Avenue for most traffic. Flaggers will be present, and a detour route will be provided. Traffic will be one lane on 8th Street between Grant Avenue and University Avenue where crews are working. Thru traffic will be maintained using flaggers. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead.
