The City of Morgantown is holding a community forum for “Study Area No. 5” on Wednesday, April 17 at 6 p.m. in at the Wiles Hill Community Center, located at 287 Eureka Drive.
The Development Services Department is seeking community input for “Study Area No. 5”, which is located along the Stewart Street and Jones Avenue, below Raymond Street. This plan will address land use, transportation, and a variety of other topics. Strategies developed in this plan will advance the goals, objectives, strategies, and consistency principles of the City of Morgantown Comprehensive Plan towards enhancing the quality of life in and around “Study Area No. 5”.
The City of Morgantown’s Comprehensive Plan includes “Areas for Future Study”. These are places where the existing zoning does not align with the existing land uses or the existing pattern of development. It may also be an area where the existing zoning is not compatible
with or does not fully support the desired future of the area as indicated in the Comprehensive Plan’s Land Management Map. These areas require further land use and development study by the Planning Commission to enable zoning map amendment and/or zoning text amendment recommendations to City Council that will advance the goals, objectives, strategies, and consistency principles of this Comprehensive Plan update. The community forum is open to the public and all are welcome to attend and participate.
