At approximately 5:04 p.m. on February 18, 2019 officers of the Morgantown Police Department responded to a reported domestic battery in progress at 1940 Listravia Avenue. As officers arrived, they were advised that a male suspect had struck a female subject in the face and that all parties were still on scene.

Officers found a highly intoxicated male on the floor in the kitchen with blood on his clothes, face and mouth. The officers also found another male in the residence bleeding profusely from the side of his head. People inside of the residence were yelling “he bit his ear off” and officers found a large portion of the victims ear missing and the remaining part of his ear disfigured.

The suspect was taken outside of the residence to await the arrival of EMS to provide first aid to the victim. The suspect continued to try to fight and was extremely belligerent while being escorted from the residence.

The investigation revealed that the victim was at work and came home after receiving text messages about an ongoing disagreement between the victim’s daughter and the suspect. The victim and the suspect were involved in a physical altercation and the suspect bit the victim during the confrontation. Other parties inside of the residence at the time were able to separate the parties. One member of the party used a frying pan to keep the suspect at bay until the police arrived.

William Kingsley CLARK, 31 years of age of 1940 Listravia Avenue, was arrested during this incident and taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for evaluation due to the physical altercation and his state of intoxication. CLARK was released from Ruby Memorial Hospital and charged with malicious wounding. CLARK is currently being held pending arraignment.

The victim was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital and will follow up with officers after receiving treatment.
