Trash is picked up weekly at curbside for all areas except the high density West Virginia University Student areas listed below.
Trash pickups will be one day later if the following holidays fall on a work day:

If services are delayed due to inclement weather, customers will be services the next day in most instances, unless weather conditions continue to be adverse and roadways are no passable.
Waste should be in bags or containers not to exceed 32 gallons in capacity and not weighing more than 50 pounds. If you have more than one bulk item to set out, you must contact Republic Services for a special pickup before setting the items out. Construction materials set out for collections will NOT be taken. Carpet must be cut, bundled and less than 4 feet in length.
All service quality issues, such as missed pickups, etc., should be promptly reported to Republic Services at 304-366-8900 or through the City’s Citizen Request Tracker. The City will assist residents by passing on service issues to Republic for proper handling. To report a service quality issue to the City, please visit our Citizen Request Tracker page and fill out the Garbage Service Issues form under the Neighborhood Services section. Submitting the form via the city's Citizen Request Tracker will create a document of the issue and allows you to be notified when action has been taken on your issue.
