  1. 2019 Municipal Election Early Voting Period

    April 17, 2019 - April 27, 2019 @ Morgantown City Hall and North Side Fire Station

    Any registered voter within Morgantown City limits is eligible for early voting, which takes place from Wednesday, April 17, 2019 to Saturday, April 27, 2019 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Morgantown City Hall Lobby, located at 389 Spruce St. or at the Northside Fire Station, located at 1000 Van Voorhis Rd. There is no early voting on Sunday.

    The Woodburn School Redevelopment Commission is hosting a block party at the Old Woodburn School on April 27 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. Please join them for an afternoon bursting with exciting events. The old school is home to a number of local and national non-profits, who will be providing some awesome activities, including: • Science experiments with Friends of Decker’s Creek • Games with the Boys and Girls Club • Live music powered by the Pop Shop • Tours of the Old Woodburn School led by Fifth Ward City Councilor Ron Dulaney • Property cleanup led by AmeriCorps member Summer Phillips with the Northern WV Brownfield Assistance Center. This event is sure to be full of fun for the whole family and will take place at the playground behind the school. The Pyles of Pasta food truck will be present, so bring an appetite, too! This will be a great opportunity to learn more about this historic property, meet new people, and enjoy some nice weather!

    The Morgantown City Council Election is Tuesday, April 30, 2019. The polls will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, per state code. During each Municipal Election, all seven council seats are up for re-election and council members are elected at large to serve a two year term from July 1, to June 30, of the given term. For more information including a list of candidates and polling locations visit our election information page. Morgantown government offices will be closed for election day.
