[ARCHIVED] Police and WV ABC Administration Continue False ID Operations


The Morgantown Police Department working in conjunction with the Alcohol Beverage Control Administration and a number of licensed ABC establishments conducted False Identification Spot Checks following last weekend’s False Identification Operation. On October 28, 2017 Officers charged a number of individuals for possessing and attempting to gain entry into ABC Licensee establishments using fraudulent identification.

In addition to a $500.00 fine under Morgantown Municipal Code 351.09(a) each defendant is also, under West Virginia Code, §17B-3-12, subject to a mandatory suspension of driving privileges for:

1. Display or possession of any fictitious or altered identification.
2. Loaning or giving an identification to another person for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
3. Displaying or representing any identification not issued to the person in possession.

Those charged are:

ATKIINSON, Chloe, 19 years of age of Laurel Maryland
BAKER, Lindsey, 19 years of age of Wheeling West Virginia
CROPP, Lucas, 20 years of age of Manassas Virginia
HASKELSON, Arianna, 20 years of age of Huntington New York
MOROSE, Olivia, 19 years of age of Fairmont West Virginia
NALBANDIAN, Anik, 19 years of age of Washington D.C.
SPIKER, Stephen, 18 years of age of Dayton Ohio
SWEENEY, David, 19 years of age of Jefferson Pennsylvania

The Morgantown Police Department, West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Administration and Cooperating Licensed ABC establishments continue to be “Partners in Policing” and will routinely conduct spot checks for fraudulent identifications as well as other criminal behaviors.

The Morgantown Police Department is committed to its goal of eliminating crime in our city.
