The City of Morgantown will be celebrating Arbor Day and their 20th year as a Tree City USA on Saturday, October 21, 2017.

Since 1976 Tree City USA has been greening up Cities and Towns across America.

More than 3,400 communities have made the commitment to becoming a Tree City USA. They have achieved this status by meeting four core standards of sound urban forestry management: maintaining a tree board or department, having a community tree ordinance, spending at least $2.00 per capita on urban forestry, and celebrating Arbor Day.

Join the Morgantown Tree Board at the Morgantown Farmers Market at 9:00am on Saturday, October 21.  A proclamation will be read by Mayor Bill Kawecki and the group will then head out to plant 20 trees for 20 years at various locations in the community.

Morgantown’s Urban Landscape team and Tree Board will be assisting planting a tree in each neighborhood.  All are welcome, no experience needed.
