Beverly Avenue Project
Project Update - May 10, 2019
The Green River Group will continue working on Alley D near the intersection at the bottom of 4th Street. On Monday, May 13 and Tuesday, May 14 the Alley will be closed from 8:00 am – 4:00 p.m. between 4th Street and 5th Street. Plates will be used to cover the trench and allow vehicles down the Alley as needed. There will be a 10-15 minute delay for the contractor to move the plates so resident should expect slight delays. One lane of traffic will be reopened beginning Wednesday, May 15 through Friday, May 17.
Dominion Energy will be working to relocate a gas line at the intersection of 5th Street and Beverly Ave. on May 14-17 from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. During this time, a 100 foot section of road will be closed in this area to through traffic.
MUB has installed the waterline in Beverly Ave up to the tie in location of the existing waterline near 325 Beverly Ave. The waterline will be loaded, disinfected, flushed and a sample will be pulled next week. During this time, MUB will be repairing the sanitary sewer main between 412 Beverly Ave. and 336 Beverly Ave. There will be no on-street parking between this area starting Monday (May 13th) until Friday (May 17th). MUB will have this section of road closed during this time to through traffic.
A second construction crew will continue to install waterline down Beverly Ave. towards Third St. The road closures are as follows:
- On street parking will be restricted from 316 Beverly Ave. to 411 Beverly Ave. beginning Monday, May 13 - Friday, May 17.
We will provide additional updates as available. Please check back often for updates or sign up for our alert notifications on the top right of this page.
Beginning March 11, construction will begin on Beverly Avenue and Beverly Alleyway. The expected substantial completion date for this phase of the project is August 9. These dates are dependent on weather and unforseen conditions. As the construction begins, we will try to reduce the impact to residents in the area; however, parking and traffic will be affected. We will update this page frequently with project information including parking and road closures. You can also sign-up by clicking the Beverly Ave Project Alerts title on the right to receive text and email notifications about upcoming parking restrictions, traffic restrictions (i.e. possible changes to one-direction traffic), pedestrian detours and full road closures.
This construction project includes Beverly Avenue, 4th Street, Beverly Alleyway, and the 5th Street Right-of-way between 3rd Street and 6th Street. This streetscape project includes widening and repaving of the roadway, stormwater upgrades, sidewalks and ADA curb ramps, lighting, retaining walls, and dumpster enclosures.
